Page 3. The people who I have encountered here have taught me to grow, to live life on lives terms, to love life once again...
I would say, my stay here at Damark is probably one of the best moments and one of the best choices that I have made in many, many years. Damark has allowed me to be a participant in saving my own life. It has helped me realize I have this thing and this disease called addiction. The people who I have encountered here at Damark have taught me to grow, to live life on lives terms, to love life once again and to be happy to wake up every morning and plant my feet on the floor. To get busy living not dying.
I want to thank the founders of this program for everything they have done. Because I know in my heart of hearts that this place, Damark, has saved a lot of lives. Mine included. Thank you.

I have learned to trust, understand, and be more of a giving person...
Since coming to this Damark House I have learned to trust, understand, and be more of a giving person without caring about the outcome. I have learned to assist other people, where before I would have ignored these people, now I reach out my hands and am willing to help out another alcoholic-addict to get the help needed to recover.
I am approaching 11 months on March 4, 06 and would do everything the same if I had to do it all again.
Sincerely, Michael G
The recovery house put structure back in my life...
To whom it may concern,
I stayed at the Farrell Treatment Center for a month, when I got out I stayed at a recovery house. The recovery house put structure back in my life, helped me to grow as a person, and helped me to grow in recovery. To live with other recovering addicts is a blessing. You can learn from each other and grow together. As addicts it’s a spiritual fulfillment.
The unconditional love I received allowed me to find hope within myself...
To whom it may concern,
My name is Eric L. and I am a recovering drug addict. After completing a treatment program in 1988, I was accepted into a ¾ recovery house. I was leery about this living arrangement as I really knew nothing about this type of place. I was made to feel comfortable almost immediately, and soon became an active member of the house and the recovering community. The friendship, the support of housemates, and the unconditional love that I received allowed me to find hope within myself, and to believe that it was really possible that I could recover from my addiction. I learned some of the most important lessons about recovery and living a clean life in that house. To this day I have maintained friendships from that house. Later in my recovery I had the privilege of managing two independently owned recovery houses, and the rewards of that experience are beyond description.
In July of this year I will celebrate 8 years clean. I truly believed I would never have made it this far without the foundation made possible by the recovery house I lived in. I recommend to any newly recovering addict that they seek out these as to increase their chances of recovering. I believe that recovery houses are a vital tool in the battle against the disease of addiction.
